I have a hand controller heater pad that I Velcro onto my hand controller in the winter here. It's not as cold as northern Alberta, but it held up okay even when I brave some -20C nights. BrushPilot likes this #4 BrushPilot Ranger 4 topic starter Posts:395 Joined:01 Jul 2021 Loc:...
The dew heater ate up a lot of the amps however and significantly reduced performance time so it would probably pay to have a controller in the loop. The power tank capacity seemed to improve after several uses so maybe there's an element of charge cycle top up over time. An expensive ...
I have delightfully added strips of Velcro to the mount to hold various accessories, like a MaxOak 50Ah battery for powering my Dew Heater controller (and other accessories), attached and will be adding an 80mm tube ring mount to attach my Astro-Tech 60mm APO for wide field images. There i...

StarSense now plugged into the Hand Control Port, Wifi still in the Aux Port but will see if velcro'ing it out of the way will help w/o deteriorating signal/connectivity. Next, is those dew heater cords - hoping to mount the controller on the eyepiece holder with the battery/transformer....
In my particular case I recently installed the new Celestron Dew Heater Ring and updated the firmware so as to control and monitor that via CPWI or just the hand controller and had not used the scope since until a club event last Friday and I got the infamous error codes. Tried another ...
Wow, this looks great. I've been out with my 11" SCT and the dew strip, cord, heater controller and long cord to the battery is a pita! This looks super simple. I'd just stay with the 9V battery. But have to unplug every night but thats NOTHING compared to the regular set up....
