Running on a Windows PC, alignment of the mount is performed in CPWI. Multiple alignment stars can be added to the alignment model to reach a very high level of pointing precision. Interface with other astronomy software is accomplished using the standard ASCOM driver system....
It seems to me that Prolific has updated their driver to fix Celestron's own software app (CPWI), but has not yet fixed ASCOM integration. I have raised a ticket with Celestron. I've missed 3 glorious evenings this week when I could have been imaging Thanks again Chris #6 Chrisashford...
you can use the Celestron NEXT REMOTE and NEXT TOUR software. There is the Celestron CPWI software but my HC doesn't connect via USB. I got around this by using wifi/blothoot. to use the stellarium cart du ciel software you must install the ascom platform for the drivers...

Could someone confirm the ASCOM driver for the Pegasus workswellwith NINA? Did not see NINA mentioned on this page. Transporting with an SCT. can it be easily removed for transport? OR can the assembly function vertically, i.e. rotate it clockwise so as not to extend beyond the diameter ...
For me, even as a 100% mac/ios user, trying to do astronomy/astrophotography on the mac was such a chore that I finally went out and got a cheap windows laptop. The added benefit was I can run CPWI now. R Dan #56 Jmq4
I can understand preferring a more elegant solution than CPWI, but at the end of the day, does it really matter whether CPWI is "bloated" or not? I'm afraid you may just be SOL trying to get NR's virtual port to work, and CPWI provides an ASCOM driver for connectivity with othe...
