As a workaround to bypass the GH API, you can use --update-to and specify the channel and tag, e.g. yt-dlp --update-to stable@2023.09.24 Sort of inconvenient, but it's the best we can do until we know why you are running into the rate-limit Author cheater commented Oct 11, ...
