The origin of the GPU is tied up in the history of video games, which has been the traditional use case for GPUs. It's hard to say when the first GPU was created, but the term was apparently first coined by Sony for its original PlayStation console in 1994, which used a Toshiba chi...
One of the most widely used discrete GPUs is the Intel Arc brand, built for the PC gaming industry. Integrated GPUs An integrated GPU, or iGPU, is built into a computer or device's infrastructure and typically slotted in next to the CPU. Designed in the 2010s by Intel, integrated GPUs ...
The graphics processing unit, or GPU, has become one of the most important types of computing technology, both for personal and business computing. Designed for parallel processing, the GPU is used in a wide range of applications, including graphics and video rendering. Although they’re best kn...

If you’ve considered getting a new computer or want to upgrade the one you have, you may have come across the word “GPU” in product descriptions and technical specifications. You may be wondering, just what is a GPU? The acronym itself stands for “graphics processing unit,” and it’...
GPUs work by using a method calledparallel processing, where multiple processors handle separate parts of a single task. A GPU will also have its ownRAMto store the data it is processing. This RAM is designed specifically to hold the large amounts of information coming into the GPU for highl...
It is observed that GPU MEMORY requirement in E2FGVI depends on both video resolution and video length. This is because E2FGVI evenly samples frames as the temporal context. The longer the video the more video frames are involved during inpainting, leading to the Out-Of-Memory (OOM). ...
The PCB is where all the components of a graphics card are mounted. It contains the circuitry necessary for the GPU, memory, and other components to communicate with each other and with the rest of the computer. Memory Controller The memory controller manages data traffic between the GPU and ...
For many, the GPU is universally lauded as the most important forPC gaming. That’s because the GPU is what actually renders the images, scenes, and animations that you see. Most of today’s fast-paced games are incredibly demanding for the type of rendering power that the GPU provides. ...
