I have an MSI MPG x570 gaming edge motherboard. It has a Gaming boost button in bios. When I click it, it appears to change the CPU ratio to a fixed rate of like 43.76 or something. I would guess this is overclocking my Ryzen 5800x but why would it lock
Open MSI Center → "Hardware Monitoring", and check the CPU and GPU temperatures. If either of the temperatures exceeds 95℃, it is recommended to enable the "Cooler Boost" function to increase the fan speed and keep the CPU and GPU at appropriate operating temperatures. ...

Precision Boost is thebuilt-inmechanism for boosting your CPU to its advertised “Boost” clock frequencies, whereas PBO is an additional setting that instead impacts the limits of Precision Boost. Simply put, it assesses your CPU’s operating conditions and tells it how to behave when boosting ...
When testing, the use of Intel Thermal pref boost or what ever it is masks the issues.. it holds the clocks low due to temp in the test but allows games to bink the higher clocks as the temps are lower finding the crash points.Fixes,Set SAv to static at ...
the cooler the cpu the higher it will boost, so check that, do a run normal then set fans to 100% give like 5 mins then test again and see if there is any difference.ps: you want PBO ON as it is what manages the boosting in multi.good luck and report back. 0 Likes Reply ...
ASRock has reportedly set the default TJMax on some motherboards to 115°C, which is a bit too high and not at all necessary. If you want more performance, you shouldn't adjust the TJMax; instead, buy a betteraftermarket CPU cooler to allow the CPU to sustain higher boost clocksor...
The Intel Core i9-14900KS is the fastest processor with a maximum boost speed of 6.2 GHz without manual overclocking, but it'll thermal throttle itself into the ground when you attempt to push it hard. Heat and inefficiency are troubling Intel's CPU line-up and Arrow Lake needs to address...
Read the first comment of: Mark Kaine, R 5 3600, bad airflow case, all fans stopped in idle, stock cooler: 32 to 35°C. An the CPU is reaching easily 4.2GHZ boost. My processor even is not reaching the 4.2GHz at boost, only 3.9GHz. - All my voltages are normal,...
