And that brings us to the hard drive (HDD) and the solid-state drive (SSD), the two most popular forms of digital storage. HDD vs. SSD: Similarities From a user’s perspective, a solid-state drive and a hard drive behave the same: They store information and make it available when a...
A hard drive or hard disk drive (HDD) is a type of data storage device that is used in laptops and desktop computers. An HDD is a “non-volatile” storage drive, which means it can retain the stored data even when no power is supplied to the device. Operating systems (OS) tell the...
In our recent fall IDF coverage we told you about Intel's upcoming Santa Rosa platform for Notebooks that employs something known by its code name as the "Robson" module, that incorporates NAND Flash in a solid state disk-cache design. Here's a little demo of Fuji Siemens notebooks loaded...
SSD stands for Solid-State Drive. It’s a type of computer storage device that uses integrated circuit assemblies to store data persistently. Unlike traditional hard disk drives (HDDs), which use spinning disks and movable read/write heads, SSDs have no moving parts. This fundamental difference...
A solid-state drive (SSD) is a hard drive made of solid-state electronic memory chip arrays. SSD is composed of a control unit and storage unit (FLASH chip, DRAM chip). Solid-state drives are widely used in many fields such as military, vehicle, industrial control, video surveillance, ne...
Solid State Drives (SSD) serve the same function as Hard Disk Drives, but they have a different set of internal components. They have no moving parts and data is stored in flash memory. SSDs can access data faster than HDDs with better performance and ro
Solid-state drives (SSD) is a data storage alternative to hard disk drives (HDDs). Learn here the benefits of using SSDs and use NAND flash memory for storing data.

So I'm upgrading from an ssd to a higher capacity hard drive, I know that seems nonsenical considering how slow hard drives are but I think that a hard drive will feel faster depending on the OS's UI complexity, I use xubuntu and i noticed that it loads
