the Pro-300 has what would be to me abigupgrade: the removal of the enforced large (30mm / 1.18") top and bottom minimum border with heavier / thicker papers. If you always or almost always print on RC-type papers (like Canon glossy, semigloss, and luster), then this doesn't matter...
It's worth adding that while this workaround is tried and tested on an Epson setup, I know another photographer with a Canon PRO-300 and for some reason using this approach doesn't work in conjunction with saved templates on his setup. More investigation is required there...
