I live near a nuclear plane about 30 miles or so... and the water that is uses to cool the reactors come out of the plant radio active... and leeks out into the sea... so i think that nuclear power is a bad idea... as you can see hear the green area is the radio act...
There’s a bit of a stooshie going on in Ontario renewables circles about a proposed 5km minimum shoreline setback for offshore wind turbines in the Great Lakes. This pretty much kills most projects through infrastructure costs — deep lake foundations are expensive, as is submarine cable...
There is a good understanding of the growth capabilities of the windfarms in the near future, as such we have a good understanding of vessel specifications required to cater for this growth. We expect some level of versatility related to upcoming NB projects where vessels built today...
Like me you probably find them "cute". Back in the 90's I dealt with a lot of MOS's and it was nice to not have to deal with the expense of conventional platforms on marginal properties. At this point it would seem offshore windfarms fall into such a marginal category. With the ...
such as offshore wind farms or oil drilling operations, upfront costs associated with these projects can be substantial, as well as expenses related to vessel acquisition, construction, maintenance, and human resources. These high capital costs pose a challenge as they may delay investment decisions...
14A.2 Analysis of Acoustic data of White-Beaked Dolphins During Surveys at Proposed Neart na Gaoithe and Inch Cape Offshore Wind Farms on distinct tracks were classified as "likely" and were not included in later analysis. Some of the clicks were "clipped", that is to say the signal excee...
The UK has something like 70% of europe's wind "reserve". Throughout the 90's and beginning of this century, when you could not give steel away and oil was cheap we fiddled around with wind power and built a few wind farms using 300kW to 600kW turbines. Then came Blyth offshore ...
Underwater hydrogen storage and hybrid metal hydride compressed gas tanks have been identified for offshore buffer storage, as well as exploration of using metal hydride slurries to transport hydrogen to/from offshore wind farms, coupled with low pressure, high flexibility electrolyser banks. ...
