浏览评论区的时候看到这样一个短评:只觉得自传意在把自己写成个self-made hero,刻意没提很多人的帮助,魂淡。我读完这本书已经有年头了,但是我清楚记得事实正好相反,弗雷德里克·道格拉斯在自传中写了许多人对自己的启蒙,在北方每到一个地方都得到了许多人的帮助。他说他如此崇拜加里森,并把加里森的《解放者》奉为圣经。
