Guessing you're using visualsettings.dat from VisualV I would suggest using RadianceV's Visualsettings.dat for the lighting issue. Blur in the menu is a bug listed in the bugs.txt and is known of; currently no fix other than to turn off DOF by pressing Numpad1....
