Many of us may have at some point wondered whether we should use data as a singular or plural word. The right answer can be evasive. How to treat data can influence our writing and sentence structure in different ways. Let's review this word more closely
Diceis already a plural word. The singular ofdiceisdie.Diecomes from the French worddes, which refers to the same objects. Usually, in English, we would addsto the word to make it plural. But, if we did that withdiethen it would becomedies. And that would be confusing!
