You already mentioned ㄴ. ㄴ is for past, 는 is for present, and ㄹ is for future tense. But using ㄴ for past is when it is a verb. 사다(buy) -> 산 것 같다 / 사는 것 같다 / 살 것 같다 But 춥다 is an adjective.
