神象岛 Elephant Island 神象岛位于孟买港东约9公里处。由小岛的港口沿山坡往前走约10分钟,便可看见一座建于6世纪的印度著名石窟。神象岛之名,据说是由石窟前树立的巨象雕刻而来。但是这座雕刻,现已移往市区维多利亚花园的博物馆,继续公开让游客参观。石窟的开凿于公元6-9世纪,此时正是佛教衰落、印度教兴起的年代。
