Dysgonomonas隶属于细菌域,拟杆菌门,拟杆菌纲,拟杆菌目,紫单胞菌科。目前属内有3个种,D.capnocytophagoides(formerly CDC group DF-3)、D.gadei和D.mossii。 Dysgonomonas的DNA(G + C)含量为38mol%,代表菌种为D.gadei。
