Gordon Telling, FTA head of policy for the South-East, says he wants to see an additional Thames River crossing. Telling says that the FTA would also hope to see some sort of cap on the charges that could he levelled by the crossing's new owners....
According to the FTA, the infrastructure of the crossing is now paid for, meaning that charges are no longer justified. It adds that although the toll is regarded as a congestion charge, this ignores that many hauliers have no alternative route....
