Terminal1 于1981年7月1日启用,在Terminal 2启用前,Terminal 1是樟宜机场唯一的Terminal。Terminal1 採用H型设计,充分地利用有限的空间规划最多的登机桥。Terminal 1 共有2次升级工程,首個是在1995年完成,花了1亿7千万新元,扩大了兩個突码头;另外投入4亿2千万新元去增建14個登机桥,後者在1996年至1999年進行。
