I had a issue to where i had to re install this software from scratch i.e remove all instances of aura using aura cleaner and using ccleaner - 807841
which comes with the Aura Sync feature, especially if you are new to RGB controlling. The Aura Sync is enough for primary lighting presets. Only install Aura Creator if your priority is high for advanced custom lighting.
