Based on their bright near-infrared magnitude and their very red colour, these objects are likely to be very massive galaxies with little or no ongoing star formation. We have derived a surface density of 0.0396±0.0011arcmin –2 (Poisson uncertainties) for these Extremely Red Objects....
Here is a low power (1 degree) field showing OGC 0022, (above post) from wikisky. That's M92 at the top. About 45 arcmin south of the east edge of M92 note the bright blue star; To the immediate SSW of that 9th mag star is the ruddy looking OGC 0022 with a 13 mag star pair...
Valid options are arcsec, arcmin, degrees, hours, radians. (default: radians if angular units make sense, but for 3-d or flat 2-d positions, the default will just match the units of x,y[,z] coordinates) bin_slop (float): How much slop to allow in the placement of p...
A new SNR has been discovered at l = 65.1 deg, b = 0.6 deg in observations with the DRAO Synthesis Telescope at 408 and 1420 MHz. Maps of the SNR are presented at the two frequencies. The size of the SNR is 90 arcmin x 51 arcmin. It has the appearance of a shell SNR of appro...
The overall methodology was successfully applied to the alignment phase of the set of OGSEs, with accuracies - based - of 卤0.02 for spatial and spectral F-numbers, 卤10渭m for the distance between foci of the astigmatic beam, and 卤0.2arcmin for relative beam pointing.R. Henriques...
This catalog contains a survey of a rectangular area of 10x6 degrees in galactic coordinates (95.5° < l < 101.5° ; 28° < b < 38°) in the radio continuum in the direction of the north ecliptic pole (RA=18h, Dec=66.5°) at 11.1 cm wavelength. The survey was conducted with the ...
